Full Description

The OS 1st edn 25in map (1889) (1) shows a low, irregular, approximately H-shaped earthwork, approximately 70m N-S and 50m E-W. It may represent traces of the stripfield system shown in this area on the tithe map (2), or back-filled quarrying activity, of which there are numerous traces in the vicinity. Subsequent OS maps (3) show a plantation on the site.
