Full Description
The OS 1st edn 25in map (1889) (1) shows a rectangular structure more than 30m long behind the shore with the seaward end at and perpendicular to the high water mark. Its function is uncertain: it could be a slip or perhaps the remains of a pier at Chapman's Pool referred to in the record of an early 19th century wreck (MWX5106). Nothing appears in this location on the 1st edn OS 1in map (2), tithe map (3) or OS 2nd edn 25in map (4).
