Full Description

A sub-rectangular hollow approximately 28m by 5m in the grounds on the E side of Down House is shown on the OS 1st edn 25in map (1889) (1) and 2nd edn (1903) (2). The earthwork may represent the remains of an ornamental garden or water feature associated with the early C18 Down House
