Summary

Site of a Bronze Age barrow visible as a cropmark and an earthwork on aerial photographs. It forms part of a wider group of round barrows running in an irregular east-west line on the crest of a ridge immediately south of the A35.

Full Description

Six round barrows situated south of the Bridport road, about 2 1/2 miles from Dorchester; 'D' - (122) - SY 64809030. Bowl barrow, 65 ft diameter and 10 1/2 ft high, surrounded by a tree-clump enclosure. <1> <3>

'D'. SY 64799030. Bowl barrow, diameter 27.0 metres, height 3.0metres,within a ring of trees. Not ploughed. No visible ditch. Thickly overgrown. 'A', 'C', 'D', 'E', 'F'. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <4>
