Full Description
Three post medieval chalk pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1970 to the east of Lord's Barrow, Owermoigne. The quarries are formed of pits measuring between 20 m by 15 m and 30 m by 20 m. (1) The quarries are not visible as earthworks on the most recent comprehensive aerial photographic cover available to the project of 2009. (2) One of the quarries is marked on the 1st ed OS map. (3) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
