Two post medieval chalk pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the south of Owermoigne. The quarry pits measure approximately 29 m by 20 m and 30 m by 15 m. (1) One of the quarry pits is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of 2002. (2) The chalk pits are marked on the 1st ed OS map. (3) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
