Full Description
Post medieval drainage or land improvement works are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s in the southern area of Chaldon Herring. The drains are formed of narrow linear ditches predominantly oriented north-south. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 270 m by 160 m. (1-2) The drains are not visible on aerial photographs of 2009. They have partly been built over and the drains in open land may have been levelled by this time.
