Full Description
Post medieval drains are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north of West Chaldon, Chaldon Herring. The drains are formed of narrow linear ditches predominantly oriented east-west and north west-south east. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 205 m by 165 m. (1) The drains are not visible on aerial photographs of 2009 and may have been levelled by this time. (2) These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
