Full Description
A post medieval drainage system is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north of Warmwell. The drains partly overlie the medieval deserted settlement of Warmwell (see MDO2820). The drains are visible as narrow ditches oriented predominantly north south and east-west. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 510 m by 240 m. (1-2) The central area of the drainage system survives as an earthwork on recent lidar imagery. (3) This site was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
