Four post medieval extractive pits and spoil heaps are visible as a low earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1970 on Winfrith Hill, Winfrith Newburgh. (1-2). They were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They have been partially plough-levelled and some are no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery.
