Full Description

Two small pits lying within the celtic field system described in MDO8313 to the southeast of Marley Wood House. They are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1970 although levelled and showing as cropmarks in 1980 (1-2). They are considered to be associated with post medieval chalk extraction and were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
