Full Description
An extensive group of small irregular pits are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1970 to the south of Belhuish Farm. They are considered to be the result of post medieval chalk quarrying although a natural or prehistoric origin cannot be ruled out. They lie within the celtic field system decribed in MDO31880 (1). The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. The features are no longer visible on the most recent Google Earth imagery.
