The potential sites of three post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 to the south of Burngate Reservoir. The site has since been partially levelled and showing as cropmarks on later photographs.

The potential sites of three post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 to south of Burngate Reservoir. The site has since been partially levelled and showing as cropmarks on later photographs (1-2). The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
