A disused pit is marked at this location on the OS 1:10,000 scale map. The extractive feature is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 (1) and is considered to be post medieval in date. The site is visible as an extant earthwork under trees on recent Google Earth imagery, it was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
