Full Description
An 'Old Gravel Pit' and 'Limekiln' are marked at this location on the OS 1st Edition map. The extractive feature is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 (1) and is considered to be a post medieval chalk pit. It is also visible on recent Google Earth imagery. The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
