Two 'Old Chalk Pits' are marked at this location on the OS 1st Edition Map. The features are considered to be a post medieval and are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 and 1970 (1-2). The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
