Full Description
The site of a Second World War prisoner or war camp at Lulworth known as Camp 688. This was a German working company camp which occupied a former British Army camp set within woodland. It may have been in use up until 1948 (1).
Structures associated with the site are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945 and 1946 (2-3), they have since ben demolished. The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
