Full Description

A linear fence or barbed-wire structure is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945 to the west of Lulworth Camp, West Lulworth (1). It is considered likely to be of Second World War military origin. A similar feature lies to the north in the vicinity of Burngate (MDO31896), both are considered to be outer defence lines associated with Lulworth campe (MDO31897). The features were digitially plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project they are no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery.
