Full Description
A group of six probable Second World War weapons pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s on Outer Heath to the south of the site of RAF Warmwell. The earthworks comprise numerous small pits, measuring between 4 m in diameter and 7 m by 2 m. (1) The features are under tree cover on the most recent comprehensive aerial photography available to the project (2), but no trace of the site could be seen on lidar imagery.
