Full Description

A large area of post medieval to modern sand and gravel extraction is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s in the area of Brownjohn's Plantation, to the south west of Redbridge. The pits are visible over an area measuring approximately 910 m by 345 m. ( 1-3) The pits are no longer visible as earthworks on lidar imagery of 2010. (4) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
