Full Description
An extractive pit which may be later post medieval to early modern in date is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 to the north of Warmwell. (1) The quarry is marked as a disused sand pit on the 2nd edition OS map. It measures approximately 180 m by 130 m. (2) The quarry appears to have been levelled at a later date and is not visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery of 2010. (3) This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
