Summary

Site of a small round mound is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 immediately to the south of the Bronze Age barrow described in MDO8078. It is considered to possibly be the site of an early 20th century military firing point although an earlier origin is possible.

Full Description

Site of a small round mound is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 immediately to the south of the Bronze Age barrow described in MDO8078 (1). It is considered to possibly be the site of an early 20th century military firing point although an earlier origin is possible. The site is no longer identifable under scrub on the most recent Google Earth images. The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
