Full Description
A small extractive pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 on Boat Knoll. It is considered likely to be a post medieval sand pit, the underlying geology being sand (1). The feature is still visible as low earthworks under scrub on recent Google Earth imagery; it was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
