Summary

A large transmitting station on a site covering around 190 acres, acquired by the BBC in 1939. The station, known as Overseas Extension 3 (OSE3), came into service on 16 February 1941. Notable features of the site are the transmitter halls, separated by blast walls, and an aerial system comprising 15 masts of different heights supporting 29 arrays which could transmit around the world.
