Full Description
A group of pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the lower south-west slope of Challow Hill, Corfe Castle (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval or early modern quarry. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. Current OS mapping and recent aerial photographs show this area has now been levelled for use as a car park.
