Summary

Site of a Bronze Age bowl barrow, part of a larger barrow cemetery extending along the Dorset Ridgeway. Field investigations record it as an extant mound, cut on west by a hedge bank. Also visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs.

Full Description

Bowl barrow around 28 feet in diameter with a mound about 3 feet high. Cut on west by a hedge bank which crosses dyke (MDO3248) {1-2}.

Gorse-covered bowl barrow, diameter 10.0m., height 1.3m. No visible ditch {3}.

Also visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs {4-5}, measuring approximately 7.4 metres in diameter. This site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
