Summary

A circular enclosure is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of New Mills Heath, Corfe Castle. It is considered possible it could be associated with a late prehistoric or early medieval settlement and field system located just to the west (MDO7505). Alternatively it may be post medieval or later in origin.

Full Description

A circular enclosure, approximately 25m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of New Mills Heath, Corfe Castle (1). It is considered possible it could be associated with a late prehistoric or early medieval settlement and field system located just to the west (MDO7505). Alternatively it may be post medieval or later in origin. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
