Full Description
A post medieval pound, is visible as an earthwork on undated aerial photographs (probably of 1930s date) on Higher Hyde Heath, Bere Regis. The pound is a banked enclosure of which the western and part of the southern sides are still extant. It measures approximately 140 m by 95 m. (1) The extent of the enclosure, marked as Fox Pound, is shown on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps. (2-3) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
