Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow, one of a pair adjacent to one another and, part of a larger linear cemetery extending along the South Dorset Ridgeway. Recorded by field investigators as an extant mound. Also visible as an earthwork mound on aerial photos.

Full Description

Two closely adjacent bowl barrows 25 feet and 40 feet in diameter, with mounds about 2½ feet and 3½ feet high respectively, and joined by a slight bank one foot high. <1> <2>

Double bowl barrow, by a low ridge. Western mound 8.0m. Diameter and 1.0m.high, eastern mound 13.0m. Diameter and 1.0m. High . No visible ditch {3}.

Also visible as an earthwork mound on aerial photographs {4-8}, measuring approximately 10.6 metres in diameter. This site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
