A post medieval extractive pit or swallow hole is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery immediately to the south of Affpuddle. The pit is located on chalk bedrock. It is sub-oval and measures 54 m by 43 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
