A small hollow is visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 to the west of Puddle Mill Farm. It is considered to be the site of a post medieval extractive pit (1). It is still visible as extant earthworks on the latest Google Earth imagery. The feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
