A chalk pit of medieval or post medieval origin is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. It is one of a series of chalk pits located on the lower southern slopes of Knowle Hill (Royal Air Force 1946). The feature is still visible on the most recent Google Earth imagery. It was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck NMP.
