A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1944 at Kite Hill Plantation, Affpuddle. The pit measures approximately 66 m by 44 m. (1) It is marked as a chalk pit on the 1st edition OS map. (2) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
