Full Description
A scattered group of four post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery within Wilcocks' Wood, Affpuddle. The pits are located on an area of silty clay and Portsdown Chalk Formation. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 340 m by 60 m and measure between 75 m by 40 m and 13 m by 13 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
