Full Description
A scattered group of post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery on Affpuddle Heath and within Marlpits Wood, Affpuddle. The pits are located on and area of clay, silt, sand and gravel. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 705 m by 540 m and measure between 155 m by 105 m and 18 m by 18 m. (1-2) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
