Two post medieval extraction pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 on Godlingston Heath, Studland. The pits are situated on silty clay. They are sub-rectangular in shape and measure approximately 19 m by 16 m and 16 m by 11 m. One pit is surrounded by a rectangular bank of spoil. (1) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
