Full Description

Field System. Centred at SY 67558830. <1>

A few low grass covered field banks and very spread lynchets are visible in the south half of the area, but to the north of the east to west hedge the area is under the plough, and the only definite traces are those visible on air photographs. <2>

In the opinion of this investigator the evidence on the air photographs and on the ground are not sufficient to be certain that this was an Iron Age/Romano-British field systems. The features referred to in Authority 2 may be comparatively modern. <3>

Slight earthwork remains of a possible Iron Age or Romano British field system, now mainly ploughed out. Visible as copmark/ earthwork on aerial photographs <4-5>. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
