Five post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 and recent lidar imagery on Kingswood Heath, Studland. The pits are situated on silty clay and measure between 6 m by 5 m and 16 m by 9 m. (1-2) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
