A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 to the north of Ulwell, Swanage. The pit is situated on chalk and measures approximately 110 m by 50 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
