A post medieval extractive pit is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of 1946 to the south of Washpond Lane, Swanage. The pit is situated on Limestone and sub-circular, measuring approximately 13 m in diameter. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
