Two post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 to the south of Washpond Lane, Swanage. The pits are situated on Limestone and measure approximately 76 m by 70 m and 15 m by 15 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
