An area of post medieval extractive pits is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1945 to the west of Leeson Park, Langton Matravers. The quarries are situated on Limestone. The earthworks consist of small extractive pits and larger excavated areas, visible over an area measuring approximately 450 m by 260 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
