Full Description
An area of post medieval extractive pits is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 and 2000 to the south of Coombe. The quarries are situated on Limestone. The earthworks consist of small extractive pits and larger excavated areas, visible over an area measuring approximately 700 m by 325 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
