Full Description
An area of post medieval to modern quarrying spoil and extractive pits is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 2000 around Verney Farm. The quarries are situated on Limestone. The earthworks consist of small extractive pits with finger dumps around them. The earthworks are visible over an area measuring approximately 140 m by 130 m. (1-2) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
