Full Description
A dispersed group of sub-rectangular and circular pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 (1-2), located on the southern part of Upton Heath. They are considered likely to be the remains of military fox holes, probable associated with the nearby Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery (MDO30798). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. Remains of some of them are still partially visible as on the most recent Google Earth imagery.
