The site of a post medieval quarry is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs within Quarry Wood to the north of Encombe House (RAF 1945). The feature is marked on the 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map published in 1889, and was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
