Two circular pits are visible as earthworks on Lidar imagery of Upton Heath, Lynchett Minster (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of post medieval extractiv pits. Alternatively they could be bomb craters associated with Second World War military activity in this area. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
