Two linear banks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Upton Heath, Lynchett Minster taken in 1947. This feature appears on the 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map published in 1901, where it is shown as a tramway serving clay pits to the north.

Full Description

Two linear banks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Upton Heath, Lynchett Minster taken in 1947 (RAF). Earthworks are delineated here on the Third Edition OS Map (2). They are considered likely to be the remains of historic field boundaries or lynchets. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are not visible on the most recent Google Earth imagery, this area now being obscured with scrub.

This feature appears on the 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map published in 1901, where it is shown as a tramway serving clay pits to the north.
