Full Description
A linear earthwork is marked here on the First and Second Edition OS Maps of Beacon Heath, Lynchett Minster (1-2). A linear ditch flanked with banks on either side is visible here as earthworks (3) and cropmarks (4) on aerial photographs. It is probably the remains of a historic field boundary or trackway, although an earlier origin cannot be ruled out. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is still visible as a cropmark on the most recent Google Earth imagery.
