Full Description
A sand pit is marked here on on the Second Edition OS Map (1).
A pit visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Beacon Heath, Lynchett Minster (2). It is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval sand pit. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is still visible as an earthwork on the most recent Goggle Earth imagery, although now heavily overgrown with vegetation.
